During Edward VII's reign, a new mint at Ottawa, Canada, started producing sovereigns with the mintmark of C.  All C sovereigns are rarer than other mintmarks.

The 1902 proof has a matte finish, which makes it rather unique amongst proofs, but does give the coin a handsome appearance.

With the exception of C sovereigns, no date/mintmark is rare.
